Elegant and intriguing with its long narrow leaves with splurges of coloured patterns, the Calathea Lancifolia will catch you stealing glances. Another beautiful plant hailing from Brazil, the plant comes ready potted in our ceramic UFO Planter for a great looking gift!

Amongst our best sellers, Calatheas are loved as houseplants for their attractive leaf colours and patterns and their adaptability to indoor environments. The Calathea Lancifolia's botanic name is Goeppertia insignis and it's part of the popular Marantaceae family, also known as prayer plants.

As a tropical plant, Calatheas thrive best when provided with conditions similar to their native rainforests. It prefers medium to bright indirect light, moist soil at all times and frequent misting to increase humidity.

Calatheas are also known as Prayer Plants due to the fact that their leaves stay in an upright position during the day and then fold up like praying hands at night.

A little pot with big presence

I bought this metal pot expecting it to be rusty or damaged in some way in the second chance section. I am delighted with the purchase I don’t see any discernable damage or rust and it was larger than expected which was great! I absolutely love it. We use Tumbleweeds for all of our potted plants and its always very healthy plants with no infestations.
